According to my reliable sources at CNN and TikTok, the cry laughing emoji is out and I have to admit I’m pretty tears streaming down face emoji about it.
As the “kids” now say, it is an “uncool” emoji — something only “moms” and “other uncool people, like adults” use.
But as someone who cry laughs on a regular basis in real life, this emoji perfectly reflects my reaction to, say, that very funny response someone made to my text message, or that crazy dog picture I just received. …
In honor of Valentine’s Day, the most romantic day of the year besides this most recent inauguration day, I cracked open my legendary middle school diary.
This diary, with a handsome horse on the front and a lock on the side that never actually worked, contains all of my young teenage memories and secrets. These include friend drama, family drama, and every single crush I ever had (that I never had the courage to talk to).
To commemorate the romance season, I’ve gone down the path of handsome horse diary lane to visit the day of my first kiss.
The…
Hey everyone! Welcome to 2021!
You know, the thing I love most about starting a new year is looking ahead at all of the valuable products the upcoming months have to offer! There are SO many products that I love – so I’ve put together a list of my top 10 favorites, and soon-to-be favorites, to share with you all.
Check out why these items made the cut, and why you need them in your life, um, yesterday!
This vaccine is great because it makes your body immune to that deadly virus called COVID-19. You know, the virus that, as…
We are annihilating the earth with our bad decisions!
Luckily, we’ve begun taking huge steps to reverse global warming. For example, some coffee shops offer paper straws instead of plastic ones!
This holiday season, you too can take powerful measures to help prevent the planet from combusting from within. To really make a difference this year, I’m offering up 11 ways to replace that wasteful wrapping paper with something a little more environmentally friendly.
Hey, with movements like this, 2021 could just be the year we’ll finally get this pesky climate change issue behind us once and for all!
When…
Last weekend, I discovered that Christmas tree farms are not at all the magical holiday utopia that I once thought.
Just as a disclaimer, I’ve never actually been to a Christmas tree farm. Growing up, we always got our tree from someone selling them out of a truck in the nearby CVS parking lot. Which sounds illegal, but I’m pretty sure it was not.
If you had asked me back then, I would have likely assumed that’s what a Christmas tree farm was — Christmas trees grow in the back of trucks, I probably would have said. …
This year, health officials are all trying to convince Americans not to travel for Thanksgiving. They’re encouraging everyone to stay home and lay low to prevent spreading the virus into other parts of the state, country, and at-risk populations.
But let’s go ahead and get this out there, everyone: Thanksgiving is a bad holiday that should have been canceled LONG ago.
The pandemic is really just doing us a huge favor by forcing us all to skip it.
Don’t believe me? Prepare to be convinced.
You know who understands what we’re going through during this killing spree of a pandemic…
Does anyone remember the beginning of the quarantine?
When we were all submitted to the dramatic shift from our normal lives, ordered to “go home, stay home, and avoid other people at all costs”?
Well, life sure is weird now — but at the beginning of it all, it was WEIRD (capitalized for dramatic effect). Personally, I wasn’t sure what to do with myself; what to do with my anxiety; or, most traumatically, what to do with all of my free time.
Eventually though, we’ve all (more or less) figured out this whole quarantine situation. Tiger King really helped band…
Hey ladies! It’s fall time, and you know what that means (besides Insta pics of crunchy leaves, of course): it’s yoga pants season!
We’re all busy women doing busy women things, and we just don’t have time to think about pants all the time. And, not to mention with pumpkin spice season in full swing, those jeans might as well hibernate until spring, just like our diets.
But if you’re at a loss for ways to incorporate these stretchy gifts from heaven (as I like to call them when I’m talking to my clothes in private), I have 5 great…
When this new special little addition joined my world, my life turned upside down, in all the best ways. I’ve never known a joy like this before; it’s exhilarating, euphoric, and — exhausting.
But it’s all worth it. Please welcome my new little bundle of joy
Welcome to the world, my perfect angel.
Thank you for choosing me to be your mom.
Pedro’s weather report: Chile today, hot tamale!
You never sausage a place! You’re always a wiener at Pedro’s!
“DAD, LOOK! ANOTHER ONE!”
The billboards sprang up faster the closer we got, each one luring us with enticing promises of our long-awaited destination.
Everything is extra ¡Caliente! here!
Handheld video games forgotten, boredom ceased, “Dad, he’s touching me” arguments suddenly dismissed. Our attention was solely focused on the cartoon Mexican bandito who seemed equally as excited to see us as we were to see him.
Just a leetle bit longer, amigos! Pedro so happy you coming!
“DAD, FASTER! PEDRO IS WAITING!”

Most of the things I write are intended to make myself laugh. Anyone else‘s amusement is merely ancillary.
